Purpose:
To assist Moose Jaw and area female students in pursuit of a career in a field where women are under-represented.
Eligibility:
- The female student must be enrolled in an approved educational program.
- Have verification of acceptance from the program of study.
Selection:
Awarded to a student who lives in the boundaries of south-central Saskatchewan which Moose Jaw Transition House serves.
Amount:
2 scholarships in the amount of $500 each will be awarded annually.

PURPOSE:
As a part of the MacRae Legacy for Life, the Memorial Fund Scholarship was created to recognize the hard work and dedication necessary to complete a high school diploma. The scholarship is to aid in supporting individuals lith learning disabilities in their pursuit of a post-secondary education.
The MacRae Memorial Fund Scholarship is dedicated to eliminating educational gaps between Indigenous and non-Indigenous Canadians.
Checklist
Please make sure all of the following documentations are handed in with the scholarship application.

- One-Page Essay on:
- How learning disabilities have affected his/her life
- How he/she has learned to work with and compensate for those disabilities
- What he/she hopes to do in the future

- Full copy of psychoeducational assessment (if available) of the diagnosis of a learning disability by a registered psychologist (or equivalent). In the absence of a full copy of psychoeducational assessment, a letter from a registered psychologist (or equivalent) confirming the existence of a learning disability or ADHD and a brief description of its characteristics will be permitted.

The applicant must complete the form and submit it along with a one page explanation of:
- How learning disabilities have affected his or her life.
- How he or she has learned to work with and compensate for those disabilities.
- What he or she hopes to do in the future.
In addition, candidates must arrange to have the following documents sent to Learning Disabilities Association of Saskatchewan:
- Three letters of reference: one from a teacher who taught the applicant in high school and two from persons who have known the applicant for a minimum of one year. Letters from relatives will not be admissible.
- Proof of admission or acceptance (or conditional acceptance) in the course of study proposed.
- Written documentation of the diagnosis of a learning disability by a registered psychologist within the past five years.

The Junior Citizen of the Year award has honoured the youth of Saskatchewan for over 40 years. The program is sponsored by The Saskatchewan Weekly Newspapers Association, in partnership with SaskPower, and the Lieutenant Governor of Saskatchewan.
These prestigious awards are given to kids who:
- Have had the ability to overcome life’s challenges
- Have a positive lifestyle
- Are dedicated to community and school
- Have a strong sense of caring and responsibility

- Are between ages 8 to 18

SaskTel Métis Scholarships
Every year, several scholarships are awarded to Saskatchewan students studying in a field directly related to information and communications technology.
Eligibility
Open to Entrance and Undergraduate students enrolled in an accredited post-secondary institution pursuing a degree, diploma or certificate program directly related to information and communications technology. Programs include, but are not limited to the following:
- Engineering (electrical, electronic, telecommunications)
- Business Administration/Commerce
- Computer Science
- Other field of study related to SaskTel
Candidates must:
- Self declare as Métis
- Be a Saskatchewan resident
- Demonstrate academic ability to be successful in course of study
- Be enrolled or plan to enroll in full-time studies at a Post-Secondary institution in Saskatchewan
- Demonstrate financial need
- Submit a statement of no more than one page attesting to leadership skills and Community involvement, which includes a 50-word biography
By submitting their application, candidates grant permission for the Gabriel Dumont Institute Scholarship Foundation to provide their name, photo, course of study and submitted statement for publication purposes, should they receive the award.
Deadline for scholarship applications is May 1 and October 1 of each year. Please note that Scholarship applications are not retained past the award year.

SaskTel Gord Kuhn Scholarship
The SaskTel Gord Kuhn Scholarship has been established in honour of long time SaskTel employee Gord Kuhn. Gord’s career at SaskTel spanned 29 years, and at the time of his passing he was serving as President CEP (Communications, Energy & Paperworkers Union) Local 1-S. This scholarship acknowledges Gord’s valued commitment to SaskTel and his leadership in building a strong employer/union partnership.
The SaskTel Gord Kuhn Scholarship is $3,000 and is awarded to a current SaskTel employee (or immediate family member of a SaskTel employee) attending a post-secondary institution in Saskatchewan studying in a field directly related to telecommunications.

Eligibility
- Be a current SaskTel employee or immediate family member of a SaskTel employee. Family member is defined as the employee’s child or the child of the employee’s spouse or common law partner (includes step-children and adopted children).
- Be Saskatchewan resident (defined by eligibility for Saskatchewan Health Services)
- Be enrolled or plan to enroll in full-time studies (for a minimum of eight months) at a post-secondary educational institution in Saskatchewan.*

Benefits of applying
Saskatchewan’s agriculture and agri-food industry is bursting with career opportunities – from production, research, processing, manufacturing, to finance and everything in between. In fact, the industry accounts for more than 50,000 jobs across the province.
For students willing to speak up and tell the exciting story of agriculture, the Saskatchewan Ministry of Agriculture offers the Agriculture Student Scholarship. The winning scholarship is valued at $4,000 and the three runner-up scholarships are valued at $2,000 each.
Eligibility
We are looking for young people who plan to pursue an exciting career in the industry. To be eligible for this scholarship, you must be a Grade 12 student or recent high school graduate (within the past two years) residing in Saskatchewan who is planning to take agriculture-related post-secondary education beginning in the fall of 2020.
Note: Ministry of Agriculture and Saskatchewan Crop Insurance Corporation employees and their immediate family members are not eligible.
How to apply
Applicants must complete the Application Form and:
- Produce a creative three-minute video or 1,000-word essay sharing their food story (criteria below);
- Provide a letter of conditional acceptance to a post-secondary institution; and
- Provide a letter of recommendation from either a teacher/professor, agriculture industry leader or community leader.

The application deadline is March 1, 2020, and applicants have until April 1, 2020, to submit a copy of their letter of conditional acceptance into their specified college/program. Applications should be submitted electronically to by email. Videos can be submitted by including a YouTube link on the application form or by attaching a copy of the digital file.
Application theme and criteria
Applications to the 2020 Agriculture Scholarship program should be based on the theme, Our Food Has a Story. Through the theme, applicants will have an opportunity to tell stories of how food produced on the farm gets to the table, and to recognize the dedicated people it takes along the way to sustainability deliver healthy, affordable and safe products. Submissions should focus on one or more of the following topics: affordability, food safety, health and nutrition, and/or sustainability.
Everyone has a personal connection with food, and we want to hear about yours! Some examples of food stories include: an explanation on how agriculture has benefited your community, how your family farm has adopted technologies to protect your livestock and the environment, or, it could be about what you do to advocate for agriculture and help others understand where their food comes from.
Finding inspiration
When developing your essay or video, consider the following questions:
- How has your experience on a farm, ranch, or in an agricultural food business guided your food story?
- How has your school, community, family, and/or friends have been impacted by agriculture.
- What do you hope to learn during your post-secondary education that will further shape your food story?
- How could you use your food story to promote Saskatchewan producers or processors (within the agriculture/ food sectors)?
Note: These questions are meant as a guide, and you are not required to address each of them directly in your application.

Evaluation process
Videos and written submissions will be judged by a review committee based on: alignment with the themes provided, development of ideas, structure and clarity, creativity and quality, and professionalism. Leadership qualities and school/community involvement in your letters of recommendation will also be taken into consideration.
The Ministry of Agriculture reserves the right to publish or promote all submissions as deemed appropriate. Any personal information collected will not be used for any other purposes and will remain confidential.
Scholarship recipient
Scholarship recipients will be notified in May 2020. Recipients will need to submit their Official Confirmation of Enrollment, as issued by their post-secondary institution, prior to receiving the scholarship funds.
Students get to spend a half a day experience hands-on activities and learning bout a specific program, admission requirements and application processes.
