Medical Program Information Sessions

There is an open house coming up directed for high school students to gain information on classifications for MI and DI put on through British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT) and Saskatoon Industry Education Council (SIEC) on October 27 & 28, 2021.

October 27 will have a focus on positions such as Combined Laboratory and X-Ray Technician (CLXT), Medical Laboratory Assistant (MLA), Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT), Medical Radiation Technologist (MRT) and Phlebotomist.

October 28 will have a focus on positions such as Cardiovascular Technologist, Nuclear Medicine Technician Specialty, Nuclear Medicine Technician II, Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, Cardiac Medical Sonographer.

These positions are considered ‘Hard to Recruit’ in healthcare in all areas in the province with SHA. This is a field that some students don’t realize has a need. There may be opportunity for recruitment incentives with these positions with SHA.
