Great Plains College – Grade 11 Early Entrance Awards

THE RUMOURS ARE TRUE 

The Great Plains College one-of-a-kind scholarship program is back for 2015–16.

Every full-time student in a student loan-eligible program, who applies before April 30, 2015, will receive a scholarship of $500 from Great Plains College.

This is in addition to the $500 Saskatchewan Advantage scholarships provided by the provincial government.

Further grades-based scholarships up to a maximum total of $5,000 will be available to students in the the following programs:

Aboriginal Arts and Stories

Celebrate Creativity, Heritage and Legacy!

Aboriginal Arts and Stories invites self-identified First Nations, Metis and Inuit youth (ages 11 to 29) to submit a piece of creative writing or visual art for a chance to have their work published or exhibited and win up to $2000.

Catholic Women’s League Scholarship (Moose Jaw and Marquis)

Application Requirements:

  • A graduate of Vanier Collegiate in Moose Jaw.
  • Child of a member of CWL or UCWL council St. Joseph’s Church Moose Jaw, Church of our Lady Moose Jaw, St. John’s Marquis, or the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Moose Jaw.
  • Transcript of Grade 12 marks signed by the school principal.
  • Description of your school, church and community activities including volunteer work.
  • Applicant must be accepted to University, College or Vocation School for the fall term following Grade 12 graduation.

Undergraduate Scholarships Available to First-Year Students Enrolled in a Saskatchewa-Based Post-Secondary Program

Amount:  5 x $5000

Eligible: Must complete grade 12, attend SK based post-secondary program on a full-time basis, and in a program associated with the agriculture industry.

  • Four scholarships totaling $10 000 to students who thinkAG and show it by telling their stories about their passion for this world leading Saskatchewan industry.

Saskatchewan Association of Rural Municipalities

Value:   two $1500 scholarships

Who:  Students who are in grade 12, are planning to study at a Saskatchewan post-secondary school (outside of Saskatchewan if the course of choice is not offered here), have completed the last two years of high school in Saskatchewan, have a farming background, have parents or guardians who own/rent land and pay taxes to a rural municipality, and live in a rural area.

Stacey Levitt Memorial Award

Living a Long Life to the Fullest

Stacey was a high school student in Toronto who was accidentally killed by a car while out jogging. In her memory, Stacey’s parents created an annual $2500 award for a student who emulates the spirit and ideals that their daughter had before her tragic passing.

Open:  to anyone currently attending a Canadian secondary school

Process:  application form, letter of recommendation and a short two page essay addressing specific questions
