We are excited to announce the 2015 Nimbus Mix Contest will feature two simultaneous competitions: one for high school students (13-19) and one for adults (high school graduate or 19+) with up to $100,000 in scholarship prizes to be awarded!

Important Dates:

  • April 1, 2015 – Mix Contest Tracks will be available for download.
  • May 1, 2015 – Final mix submissions must be uploaded.
  • June 1, 2015 – Mix Contest 2015 winner to be announced.

SaskTel Aboriginal Youth Awards of Excellence

The SaskTel Aboriginal Youth Awards of Excellence recognize youth achievement in 10 categories.

You can nominate any youth or group if they are:

  • Of Aboriginal ancestry
  • Between 14 and 18 years of age by May 22nd, 2015
  • A resident of Saskatchewan
  • Able to demonstrate outstanding commitment and/or ability in one of the 10 award categories
  • The deadline for application is April 16th, 2015.

Course Changes/Additions
The old curriculum Science 20 courses WILL be offered one last time this summer, but since Sask Learning will be shutting the course codes off as of July 30th, we can only give the full Summer months (to the end of August) for completion and there will be NO extensions to those final dates, please make students aware if they are registering for any of these three courses.

Since last year we have added:

  • History 20
  • Digital Citizenship 20
  • Physical Science 20
  • Environmental Science 20
  • Health Science 20

All will be available for summer enrollment.  In addition the Science 10 course will be the NEW Curriculum when it is offered in the summer.

Conexus Community Youth Leadership Award

What is the Conexus Community Youth Leadership Award?

The award is presented to a graduating high school student who demonstrates co-operative spirit, community involvement and leadership. The intent of the award is to recognize an individual at the time of graduation from high school for the contributions made to school life and community and to reward youth who exhibit leadership skills. Academic achievements shall be considered, but they are not the deciding factor in selecting a candidate. The award was first presented in 1997 to commemorate 60 years of community leadership.

How do I apply?

It’s easy!  Go to the Conexus website at www.conexus.ca/AboutConexus/OurCommunity/Leadership Award/ to download the award application. When completed, email your application to communityinvestment@conexus.ca.  Don’t forget to include both of your letters of support, a copy of your latest report card or academic transcript and a school or graduation photo.

Value:  30 community leadership awards x $500

Sasktel Scholarships

SaskTel Scholarships

Every year, SaskTel awards 7 scholarships of $3,000 to students attending post-secondary institutions in Saskatchewan who are studying in a field directly related to information and communications technology.

Eligibility

  • Be Saskatchewan residents (defined by eligibility for Saskatchewan Health Services)
  • Be enrolled or plan to enroll in full-time studies (for a minimum of eight months) at a post-secondary educational institution in Saskatchewan. *
  • Be enrolled in a degree, diploma, or certificate program directly related to telecommunications. Programs include, but are not limited to, the following: Computer Science, Engineering (i.e. electrical, electronic or telecommunications), Accounting and Business Administration.
  • Have achieved a minimum 75 per cent grade average in their most recent educational standing.

SaskTel specifically encourages Aboriginal peoples, persons with disabilities, visible minorities, and women interested in non-traditional careers to apply.

Please note that scholarship applications are not retained past the award year.

CUPE 5512 Scholarship

This Scholarship is open to:

  •  any Prairie South School Division #210 or Vanier Collegiate student whose parent or guardian is a C.U.P.E. Local #5512 member in good standing.  OR
  • a C.U.P.E. Local #5512 employee while still attending a high school in the Prairie South School Division #210.

The amount of this scholarship will be one hundred dollars ($100.00).

Criteria:

  •  The scholarship candidate shall be a Grade Twelve graduate during the current school year and shall be continuing his/her education or trade at a recognized institution within the following school year.
  •  The scholarship candidate shall have an acceptable academic standing in his/her high school year.
  •  The scholarship candidate must be a good citizen, law abiding, and with good school conduct.
  • Involvement in student activities, the community and volunteer organizations would be included in the selection.

 Completed application forms must be returned to your school principal/guidance counselor by:

  • April 30th of the year in which applying for Rural Schools
  • May 30th of the year in which applying for Moose Jaw High Schools
