Local Catholic Women’s League Scholarship

Application Requirements:

  • A graduate of Vanier Collegiate in Moose Jaw.
  • Child of a member of CWL or UCWL council St. Joseph’s Church Moose Jaw, Church of our Lady Moose Jaw, St. John’s Marquis, or the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Moose Jaw.
  • Transcript of Grade 12 marks signed by the school principal.
  • Description of your school, church and community activities including volunteer work.
  • Applicant must be accepted to University, College or Vocation School for the fall term following Grade 12 graduation.
  • Application submission to:  Ms. C. Lapointe, Vanier Collegiate Guidance Counsellor

CUPE 5506

This Scholarship is open to:

1. Any student whose parent or guardian is a CUPE Local 5506 member in good standing.
2. One scholarship will be awarded in the amount of five hundred dollars ($500.00).
3. The scholarship candidate shall be a Grade Twelve graduate during the current school year and continuing his/her education or trade at a recognized institution the following school year.
4. The scholarship candidate shall have an acceptable academic standing in his/her high school year.
5. The scholarship candidate must be a good citizen, law abiding, and with good school conduct.
6. Involvement in student activities, the community and volunteer organizations may be included in the selection.
7. Applications must be submitted to Local 5506 and include a letter of recommendation from the principal or counsellor, and verification of continued education.
8. If no scholarship candidate is selected no scholarship for that year will be awarded.

CUPE 5512

This Scholarship is open to:

  •  any Prairie South School Division #210 or Vanier Collegiate student whose parent or guardian is a C.U.P.E. Local #5512 member in good standing.  OR
  • a C.U.P.E. Local #5512 employee while still attending a high school in the Prairie South School Division #210.

The amount of this scholarship will be one hundred dollars ($100.00).

Criteria:

  •  The scholarship candidate shall be a Grade Twelve graduate during the current school year and shall be continuing his/her education or trade at a recognized institution within the following school year.
  •  The scholarship candidate shall have an acceptable academic standing in his/her high school year.
  •  The scholarship candidate must be a good citizen, law abiding, and with good school conduct.
  • Involvement in student activities, the community and volunteer organizations would be included in the selection.

 Completed application forms must be returned to your school principal/guidance counselor by:

  • April 30th of the year in which applying for Rural Schools
  • May 30th of the year in which applying for Moose Jaw High Schools

Scholarship Program – Caring for the Community

To demonstrate the Moose Jaw Co-op’s commitment to young people in our community, the Moose Jaw Co-op is sponsoring three $1000.00 scholarships for three graduating Grade 12 students. The successful applicants will receive the payout of the scholarship once the proof of enrollment in a post-secondary institution or course is produced.

Criteria:

  • Must personally have an active membership with the Co-op or be a family member living in the same household as an active member with purchases of $5000 or more in the previous year.
  • Must be a Grade 12 student who is graduating in the year he/she applies.

 To demonstrate our admiration and appreciation for student employees who demonstrate excellence on the job, the Moose Jaw Co-op is sponsoring three $1000.00 scholarships for three student employees. The successful applicants will receive the payout of the scholarship once the proof of enrollment in a post-secondary institution or course is produced.

Criteria:

  • Must have worked at the Moose Jaw Co-op for at least 6 months of his/her Grade 12 year,
  • must have a personal Moose Jaw Co-op membership and must pursue some type of post-secondary education.
  • Application must be made within one year of graduating grade 12.

About us: 

Character, service and leadership are the selection criteria for the Loran Scholars program. Loran Scholars are people of strong moral character who have demonstrated commitment to service and potential as leaders. They are curious by nature, interested in a wide range of subjects and willing to take meaningful risks. They prioritize results over appearances and value integrity and honesty. Though they study diverse subjects, and go on to work in a variety of fields, they share a common commitment to their university and larger communities.

We offer 30 scholarships valued at up to $100,000 over four years, including mentorship and a summer program, as well as 40 finalist awards ($3,000) and 40 provincial awards ($2,000).
