Saskatchewan Pulse Growers (SPG) would like to invite all students completing Grade 12 this year, to apply for five of their $5,000 scholarships being given out in 2019.
To be eligible for a scholarship, students must:
- complete Grade 12 this year
- go on to attend a Saskatchewan-based, post-secondary program, full-time this fall, in a program associated with the agriculture industry.
- The student or student’s parent(s) must also be registered Saskatchewan pulse growers (ex. they have sold Saskatchewan-grown pulses in the last two years).
Applications are due by May 3, 2019.

LOCAL SCHOLARSHIP!
Criteria:
- Grade 12 graduate in the current year
- Shall not be a recipient of any other scholarship monies over $75
- Be involved in student activities/student government, the community and/or volunteer organizations.
- Shall be an acceptable academic standing
- Good citizen, law abiding, and have a good school conduct record
- Show an interest in continuing further education or trade
We see potential in Saskatchewan students. That’s why we award almost $100,000 in scholarships each year.

This Scholarship is open to:
1. Any student whose parent or guardian is a CUPE Local 5506 member in good standing.
2. One scholarship will be awarded in the amount of five hundred dollars ($500.00).
3. The scholarship candidate shall be a Grade Twelve graduate during the current school year and continuing his/her education or trade at a recognized institution the following school year.
4. The scholarship candidate shall have an acceptable academic standing in his/her high school year.
5. The scholarship candidate must be a good citizen, law abiding, and with good school conduct.
6. Involvement in student activities, the community and volunteer organizations may be included in the selection.
7. Applications must be submitted to Local 5506 and include a letter of recommendation from the principal or counsellor, and verification of continued education.
8. If no scholarship candidate is selected no scholarship for that year will be awarded.

All Grade 12 students are required to complete the General Scholarship Application form to be considered for any and all school scholarships that are administered through Vanier Collegiate Scholarships Committee.

2019 Leader Post Foundation Bursary Application Package
Each year the Leader-Post Foundation awards a number of $5,000 bursaries to qualified applicants. The Foundation believes in providing service to the community, assistance to those in need and encouragement for promising young students. It is from those beliefs that the criteria for the bursaries were developed. If you are a Saskatchewan resident living within the Leader-Post designated market, who meets the criteria and is applying for one of the bursaries, we commend you and promise to carefully review your application.
- Applicants must be accepted as a full-time student at a recognized educational institution;
- Applications must be completed by the person applying ;
- Financial information provided in support of the application will beheld in strict confidence by the
review committee;
- Letters of reference should be included from:
- an employer (where applicable)
- a teacher or someone familiar with school activities and extra-curricular involvement
- someone familiar with special talents, cultural activities or community involvement

Every year, several scholarships are awarded to Saskatchewan students studying in a field directly related to information and communications technology.
Eligibility
Open to Entrance and Undergraduate students enrolled in an accredited post-secondary institution pursuing a degree, diploma or certificate program directly related to information and communications technology. Programs include, but are not limited to the following:
- Engineering (electrical, electronic, telecommunications)
- Business Administration/Commerce
- Computer Science
- Other field of study related to SaskTel
Candidates must:
- Self declare as Métis
- Be a Saskatchewan resident
- Demonstrate academic ability to be successful in course of study
- Be enrolled or plan to enroll in full-time studies at a Post-Secondary institution in Saskatchewan
- Demonstrate financial need
- Submit a statement of no more than one page attesting to leadership skills and Community involvement, which includes a 50-word biography
By submitting their application, candidates grant permission for the Gabriel Dumont Institute Scholarship Foundation to provide their name, photo, course of study and submitted statement for publication purposes, should they receive the award.
Deadline for scholarship applications is May 1 and October 1 of each year.Please note that Scholarship applications are not retained past the award year.

Info: The Les Donnelly Scholarship provides financial assistance to a post-secondary student who has contributed to health and safety in their community. It is awarded annually and applicants must submit their responses to the eligibility questions along with their application to be considered. The Saskatchewan Safety Council must receive applications no later than May 31st for the same year of studies.

TransCanada Trades Scholarship
The TransCanada Trades Scholarship is offered on an annual basis to up to 100 students from communities across TransCanada’s Canadian footprint. Each scholarship is worth $2,500 and is offered to students who are entering or enrolled in a qualifying trades program at a registered education institute. This includes, but is not limited to, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, welding, pipe fitting and camp related positions etc.
TransCanada Indigenous Legacy Scholarship
The TransCanada Indigenous Legacy Scholarship is offered on an annual basis to up to 75 students from communities across our Canadian footprint. Each scholarship is worth $5,000 and is offered to First Nations, Métis and Inuit students pursuing any full-time, post-secondary program at a registered education institute. Recipients are encouraged to apply to receive the scholarship on an annual basis.
TransCanada Community Leaders Scholarship
The TransCanada Community Leaders Scholarship is offered on an annual basis to up to 100 students from communities across our Canadian footprint in the amount of $2,500 per student. The scholarship rewards those students who demonstrate a strong commitment to their communities through volunteer work, community participation, leadership or other activities.
