Saskatchewan Hockey Association

The Saskatchewan Hockey Association shall award a minimum of eleven (11) $1,000.00 Hockey Education Assistance Grants each hockey season to a minimum of eleven (11) registered members (male or female) of the S.H.A. as follows:

  • 8 Regional (zone) members (player, coach or member of the referees division)
  • 1 Midget AAA registered player
  • 1 Female registered player
  • 1 Junior A, Junior B, Junior C or Senior registered player

RCMP Youth Camp and Aboriginal Youth Camp

Are you interested in becoming a police or RCMP officer? Do you want to see what it is really like? Then you should sign up for the RMCP Training Academy one week camp.  Thirty two students will be chosen from western Canada  (eight specifically from Saskatchewan).  There will be a wide variety of activities planned for the students to observe and participate in during their week at Depot.  These activities may include: drill, driver simulator training, firearms, police officer scenarios, tours of Depot and the museum and much more!  This is a wonderful opportunity for students to interact with police officers from many different units within the RCMP, and will allow you t ocome away with a better understanding of what life is like being in training and being a police officer with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police!

Aboriginal Focus Youth Camp Date:  August 17-21

Skills Canada – National 
Date:  May 27-30 in Saskatoon

Information:  Skills Canada is a great opportunity for students to demonstrate their skills and have fun.  Students can also learn about the skilled trades and technology careers through hands-on activities an demonstrations.

Events:  There are many events including Computer Animation, Autobody Repair, Carpentry, Cooking, Electrical Wiring, Job Skill Demonstration, Job Interview, Machining, Prepared Speech, Website Development, Welding, and Worksite Safety.  Schools are encouraged to bring students to this event to tour the competition site and to experience “Try a Trade”.  Interested students should contact Skills Canada the provincial office.

RE/MAX of Western Canada – Quest of Excellence Bursary Program
Award:  Offering 16, $1000 bursaries for a total of $16000 to Grade 12 students.
Deadline:  March 9, 2015 – only online entries will be accepted
Criteria and Requirements:  This program was established by RE/MAX to recognize the success and ongoing pursuits of Western Canadian students in regards to leadership and community contribution initiatives.


Saskatchewan Agriculture Scholarships

Saskatchewan Agriculture Scholarships
Deadline:  March 1, 2015
Criteria and Requirements:  Available to grade 12 students and recent graduates (the past two years) in Saskatchewan planning to take agriculture-related post-secondary education beginning in the fall of 2015.  Agriculture in Saskatchewan is a modern, prosperous industry; it reaches far beyond occupations typically associated with farming and plays a large role in the strength of our economy. Applicants need to produce a three-minute creative video or write a well researched 1000 word essay that showcases one of the Ministry’s four agricultural awareness key themes;  and provide a letter of recommendation from an agriculture teacher, industry leader or community leader.
