To be eligible for this scholarship, you must be a Grade 12 student or recent high school graduate (within the past two years) in Saskatchewan, who is planning to take an agriculture-related post-secondary education program beginning in the fall of 2018. We are looking for young people who
thinkAG and plan to pursue an exciting career in the industry.
Note: Ministry of Agriculture and Saskatchewan Crop Insurance Corporation employees and their immediate family members are not eligible.
How to apply
- produce a creative three-minute video or 1,000-word essay sharing their food story (criteria below);
- provide a letter of conditional acceptance to a post-secondary institution; and
- provide either a letter of recommendation from a teacher/professor, agriculture industry leader or community leader OR a resume with a cover letter outlining school and/or community involvement.

Vanier Collegiate will be submitting a nominee to apply for the Schulich Leaders Scholarship. The Schulich Leader Scholarships are the largest and most prestigious undergraduate Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) scholarships in Canada, with a value of up to $100,000 each. Students are invited to apply for nomination to Ms. Lapointe and committee by submitting your resume along with an essay as to why they would be a good Schulich Leader.
Students must ensure that they meet the following criteria and address them in their essay.
- Graduate this year.
- Be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident
- Plan to enroll in STEM at one of the partner universities
- Meet at least two of the following criteria:
- Academic Excellence
- Leadership (community, business or entrepreneurial)
- Financial Need
- Not planning a career as a medical practitioner
