Uniroyal Junior Curling and Don Berglind Memorial Scholarship Application

Eligibility: 

  1. Preference will be given to the applicants who best demonstrate a contribution to Junior Curling and/or coaching development/and or volunteerism in the Moose Jaw curling community.
  2. Applicant must be 19 years of age or younger as of December 31 in the year of application.
  3. Applicant must be registered in post secondary education and continuing his or her curling career.

Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall Scholarship

Deadline: March 15, 2018
The Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall $500 scholarships are awarded to grade 11 students to assist in finishing their grade 12 school year.They can be used for:books; school supplies; family expenses; and other expenses to meet your academic goals.
A selection committee will consider four student qualities:
  • school and/or community-based leadership;
  • responsibilities outside of school;
  • financial support needed; and
  • academic performance.

ThinkAg Scholarship

Deadline: March 1, 2018

To be eligible for this scholarship, you must be a Grade 12 student or recent high school graduate (within the past two years) in Saskatchewan, who is planning to take an agriculture-related post-secondary education program beginning in the fall of 2018. We are looking for young people who thinkAG and plan to pursue an exciting career in the industry. Note: Ministry of Agriculture and Saskatchewan Crop Insurance Corporation employees and their immediate family members are not eligible.

How to apply
Applicants must complete the application form and:
  • produce a creative three-minute video or 1,000-word essay sharing their food story (criteria below);
  • provide a letter of conditional acceptance to a post-secondary institution; and
  • provide either a letter of recommendation from a teacher/professor, agriculture industry leader or community leader OR a resume with a cover letter outlining school and/or community involvement.

Commercial Seed Analysts Association of Canada Inc. Annual $500 Post-Secondary Grant

Commercial Seed Analysts Association of Canada Inc. Annual $500 Post-Secondary Student Grant Application

 Deadline: April 15

To be eligible, the student must be enrolled full-time at a Canadian university or college. Proof of enrollment from their university or college must accompany the application. The student must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident of Canada. A copy of the student’s most recent transcript must accompany the application. The student can be in any year of study in one of the agriculture and/or plant sciences programs at a recognized Canadian institution.
Selection criteria will be based on
  • fulltime enrolment, extracurricular activities and an accompanying essay.
  • The one to two page essay topic will be on why the student feels that they should receive this grant from CSAAC.
The student’s past and current involvement in the agriculture industry including the family farm and/or seed testing is a benefit to the nominee for a successful application.

Schulich Leader Scholarship

Vanier Collegiate will be submitting a nominee to apply for the Schulich Leaders Scholarship.  The Schulich Leader Scholarships are the largest and most prestigious undergraduate Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) scholarships in Canada, with a value of up to $100,000 each.  Students are invited to apply for nomination to Ms. Lapointe and committee by submitting your resume along with an essay as to why they would be a good Schulich Leader.

Students must ensure that they meet the following criteria and address them in their essay.

  • Graduate this year.
  • Be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident
  • Plan to enroll in STEM at one of the partner universities
  • Meet at least two of the following criteria:
    • Academic Excellence
    • Leadership (community, business or entrepreneurial)
    • Financial Need
    • Not planning a career as a medical practitioner
