U of R A.S.K.: Arts student kickoff!

WELCOME TO THE FACULTY OF ARTS! Now what? Experience a day on campus at our event for new Arts students just like yourself. Attend a mock lecture, learn about the different majors offered in Arts, meet current and graduated Arts students, and more! Spend a FREE* night in on-campus housing and explore all that the University of Regina has to offer!

For students wishing to stay in Kisik Tower, there is a $42.00/evening fee. Please register yourself for residence here. Note that underage students must be accompanied by a parent/guardian/chaperone, or have this waiver signed and submitted.

Saskatchewan School Board Association – Education Scholarships

Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of demonstrated good character, community leadership, financial need, and a 500-word essay. The application deadline is Aug. 31 each year. To access the application form and view the rubric that is being used to score the scholarships, visit:

Sasktel Scholarship Reminder!

Every year, SaskTel awards 7 scholarships of $3,000 to students attending post-secondary institutions in Saskatchewan who are studying in a field directly related to information and communications technology.

Eligibility

  • Be a Saskatchewan resident (defined by eligibility for Saskatchewan Health Services).
  • Be enrolled in full time studies in the fall of 2019 at a post-secondary educational institution in Saskatchewan.
  • Be enrolled in a degree, diploma, or certificate program directly related to telecommunications. Programs include, but are not limited to, the following: Computer Science, Engineering (i.e. electrical, electronic or telecommunications), Accounting and Business Administration.
  • Have achieved a minimum 75 per cent grade average in their most recent educational standing.

SaskTel specifically encourages Indigenous peoples, persons with disabilities, visible minorities, and women interested in non-traditional careers to apply.

Please note that scholarship applications are not retained past the award year.

The Leonard Foundation Financial Assistance Program

Students must enroll in a full-time undergraduate program and participate regularly in athletic or military activities.  Personal qualities showing a potential for leadership are also a requirement.

All applicants will be considered but preference will be given to daughters or sons of ordained clergy, elementary or secondary school teachers, and Canadian military personnel.

Friendly City Optimist Club “Friend of Youth ” Scholarship

Guidelines:

  1. Two scholarships of $500 dollars each to be awarded to two (2) applicants continuing on to any post-secondary educational institute.
  2. Require applicants to have involvement in community , school, youth and/or other volunteer activities as well as some leadership qualities.
  3. Grade 12 from one of the Moose Jaw high schools. Minimum average of 75%.
  4. Deadline date is May 20 of each year.
  5. Transcript from the school.

Conexus Credit Union – Youth Leadership Award

APPLICATIONS ARE NOW OPEN!!

Applications are now open for the Conexus Community Youth Leadership Award.  Graduating high school students from across Saskatchewan who are Conexus Credit Union members (or parents/guardians of applicants are members) can apply to receive one of 30 – $500 awards.

New this year is our on-line application form.  Students will be required to go to the Conexus website, http://www.conexus.ca to the Community – Youth Leadership Award page to review the eligibility guidelines, download the two required letters of support and complete the on- line application.  No paper or emailed copies will be accepted.  Deadline to submit applications will be midnight on March 31, 2019.

A selection committee made up of Conexus staff, will adjudicate the applications. Applicants are scored on their essay question and in three weighted categories – leadership role, community involvement, and school participation.  A student must score a benchmark of at least 65 points in order to be eligible to receive the award.  Award recipients and their school will be notified by May 4, 2018.   Conexus staff will present our award at the graduation ceremony.

Rotary Club of Moose Jaw 2018-2019

Rotary Clubs internationally believe in “Service Above Self;” and as such, The Rotary Club of Moose Jaw is offering Moose Jaw high school students an opportunity to apply for a scholarship to assist with post-secondary.
