To qualify, Nominees must:
- Graduate high school or Cégep in the 2020-2021 academic year
- Be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident
- Enroll at one of our partner universities
- Plan to enroll in an eligible STEM program at one of our partner universities.
Nominees must meet the following criteria
- Academic Excellence AND
- Leadership, charisma and creativity.
- Strong consideration will be given to students with financial need.
- Be entrepreneurial-minded and intend to pursue a career in one or more of the following focus areas:
- Technology
- Engineering
- Entrepreneurship and business enterprise;
- Applied scientific research.
- Schulich are NOT considering students who:
- Focus on activism (environmental/political/societal)
- Intend to become a practicing physician and or medical research (e.g. Doctor, Dentist, Nurse, Psychologist, Pharmacist, Optometrist, etc.)
- Intend to become a Professor and conduct theoretical research.
Package:
- Title Page
- Include a small paragraph listing the schools and programs you are applying to and your future career and professional goals.
- Essay – 600-word essay demonstrating why they would make a great Schulich Leader (research who Schulich was/did/etc.)
- Resume
- Transcript

Vanier Nomination Deadline: Extended to January 20, 2021
Vanier Nominee will be informed: Extended to January 20, 2021
Schulich School Nomination Deadline: January 27, 2021
Student Nominee Deadline: February 17, 2021
Universities Make Offers March 1 – June 15, 2021
Other:
- Nominee, shot at $100 000 Schulich Leader Scholarship and/or 50 STEM scholarship
Nomination form includes:
- Name and contact information for your school
- Name and contact information for your Nominee
- Your Nominee will receive an email with a link to the Schulich Leader Scholarship Application. The rest is up to them!
Vanier Selected Nominee Application Requires:
- Universities they wish to attend
- List of their top three achievements (academic or other)
– 50 words maximum per achievement - Essay describing why they should win
– 600 words maximum - Optional essay to outline extenuating circumstances that put them at a financial disadvantage, or they feel are relevant to their application
– 250 words maximum - Short answer to identify where they see themselves in 10 years and how they plan to get there
– 50 words maximum - Two letters of reference, including referee contact information for verification
– Save as Microsoft Word, PDF or JPEG - Copy of up-to-date transcript, credit counsel summary or detailed academic report
– Save as Microsoft Word, PDF or JPEG - Headshot profile image for publicity
– Save as JPEG (No PDF or Word documents)
