This hands-on, one weekend course for women ages 16+ offers an introduction to careers in Engineering Technology. Course content includes an industry tour to a local fertilizer plant, Yara Belle Plaine Inc., to profile careers in Instrumentation Engineering Technology and Power Engineering. On second day of the course, on campus programming of Civil Engineering Technology careers will be explored within a hands on laboratory setting of the Civil Engineering Technology program. Upon successful completion of the course, you are issued a statement of attendance. The course provides women with: increased post-secondary training/education and employment potential in engineering technology; the opportunity to explore training options in a variety of technology careers; gain a realistic understanding of the physical, emotional and academic requirements of training/education and employment in an engineering technology career. All course instructors and role models are female engineering technologists.

There are only 12 maximum spots. Students must be a minimum 16 years of age or older and will have to fill out a liability waiver on behalf of Yara Belle Plaine Inc. prior to course start date. This course would be ideal for students who are 16 years of age upon course dates and in Grades 10, 11 and 12.
