Indigenous Student Experience Days at U of S

Indigenous Student Experience Days at the University of Saskatchewan (USask) is coming up online this week on Tues. Apr. 13 and Wed. Apr. 14. We’re inviting Métis, First Nations and Inuit students in high school, who are thinking about going to university, and/or who have already applied to come get to know the USask campus community. Supporters like parents or other family members, teachers and counsellors are welcome, too!

Over two days, you will be able to participate in cultural and academic experiences online, and meet with other prospective and current university students, university staff and faculty, alumni and Elders.

Activities include:

·       virtual presentations and information sessions hosted by colleges and programs from across USask

·       a student and alumni panel featuring current Indigenous university students and graduates

·       a Talking Circle with Elders and Circle Keepers

·       keynote speaker Constable John Langan, who is a member of the Keeseekoose First Nation and a graduate of the Indigenous justice and criminology program at USask

·       an online scavenger hunt game where you can complete missions to score points, and be entered into a draw for exciting prizes

·       an application for admission workshop for university programs in agriculture and bioresources, arts and science, business, language teacher education and engineering (The application for admission fee will be waived for eligible students who submit an application during this event.)

All activities are online, enabling you to join from wherever you are located and take part in the activities that work for your schedule. We hope to see you and your students on Tuesday and Wednesday, April 13 and 14, this week, at Indigenous Student Experience Days!
