Cameco Corporation Scholarship for First Nation and Métis Students
Cameco is proud to participate in this exciting partnership with Indspire, the largest supporter of Indigenous education outside the federal government. Indspire is a national charity that is dedicated to delivering programs and tools to help Indigenous peoples, especially youth, achieve their potential.
The Cameco Corporation Scholarship for First Nations and Metis Students, funded by Cameco and administered by Indspire, provides financial support for students from within Saskatchewan’s Northern Administration District (NAD).
Scholarships apply to all disciplines. The first deadline is June 1; the second application deadline is November 1st.

Non-Aboriginal students from northern Saskatchewan will continue to be supported by a variety of Cameco-sponsored scholarships that will require direct application through the University of Saskatchewan and Saskatchewan Polytechnic. All students who are residents of Northern Saskatchewan will remain eligible for Cameco’s employee dependent scholarship program as well.
Cameco Mining and Mineral Process Engineering Scholarship
Cameco Corporation is committed to increasing opportunities in the mining, mineral process and nuclear energy industry. In order to promote employment growth in the identified industries, Cameco has a scholarship to encourage pursuit of select engineering disciplines.
Annually, up to three $5,000 scholarships will be awarded to second year mining and mineral process engineering students at select post-secondary institutions. Students pursuing mining or mineral process engineering at the following institutions in Canada are encouraged to apply:

- Ecole Polytechnique – Montreal, Québec

The Russell W. Thompkins Memorial Award in Mining Engineering (funding partner)
Established in memory of Russell W. Thompkins, distinguished and admired Emeritus Professor and former Chairman of the Department of Mining Engineering, in recognition of the valued contribution he made to the safety of the uranium mining industry. Awarded on the basis of financial need and overall academic accomplishment to a student in the fourth year of a Mining Engineering program. Preference will be given to students who have made a positive contribution to the Mining Engineering Department and to the University through extracurricular activities.
Cameco provides funding to support one scholar per academic year.

SASKATCHEWAN SCHOLARSHIPS
Bernard Michel Scholarship
The Bernard Michel Scholarship provides support for a Saskatchewan aboriginal student entering their second or third year of study within the College of Engineering or College of Arts & Science. Arts and Science students, to be eligible, must be pursuing the following degrees:
- B.Sc. Geology
- B.Sc. Geography
- B.Sc. Biology
- B.Sc. Computer Science
- B.Sc. Toxicology
- B.Sc. Chemistry
- B.Sc. Physics
- B.Sc. Environmental Sciences
The total award value includes two $5,000 scholarships over a maximum of two years, renewable once for a total potential award of $10,000 per student. Renewal eligibility is based on successful academic promotion as determined by College regulations and maintaining full-time student status.
Applications for the upcoming academic year are available each March on the University of Saskatchewan website.

Cameco Scholarship in Business
This scholarship is to recognize and promote academic excellence among students who have completed the second or third year of their program in pursuit of a bachelor of commerce (B.Comm) degree at the Edwards School of Business, University of Saskatchewan. Preference will be given to residents of Saskatchewan’s Northern Administrative District. One annual scholarship of $5,000 will be awarded.

Cameco Corporation Scholarships in the Geological Sciences
This scholarship is to encourage students to pursue a career in the geological sciences and is open to students studying geological sciences at the University of Saskatchewan. Two annual scholarships of $5,000 are available for students in their second or third year of study.
Students are advised to consult with the Department of Geological Sciences at the University of Saskatchewan for further information and eligibility requirements.

Cameco Corporation Scholarship in Engineering
To recognize academic achievement of undergraduate students who are pursuing a bachelor of science (B.Sc.) degree in engineering with an interest in metallurgy and mineral processing in the mining industry.
Candidates must be pursuing a B.Sc. in chemical engineering, mechanical engineering or geological engineering at the University of Saskatchewan and entering their third year of study. This scholarship consists of two annual awards of $5,000 each, renewable once students successfully register for fourth year of study for a total potential award of $10,000.
Preference will be given to chemical engineering students. Candidates must submit a letter outlining their interest in the mining industry, including any previous work experience.

CANADA, AUSTRALIA OR UNITED STATES SCHOLARSHIPS
Cameco Employees’ Dependent Children Scholarship
Dependent children of Cameco employees who are either beginning their post-secondary studies in the fall of 2017 or are already enrolled in a post-secondary program are eligible for a scholarship of up to $2,500. Applicants are assessed based on evidence of community service, participation in extra-curricular activities and academic performance. Recipients are limited to a maximum of four annual Cameco awards.
Applicants must include all contact information on the application form and submit a copy of the application along with their most recent secondary or post-secondary transcripts by the application deadline. A reference is also required to complete a section of the application form.
